Join us at metrobar for the 2nd annual New Balance Appreciation Day, in celebration and support of New Balance and uniting DC, the DMV, and Baltimore for a day dedicated to our powerful influence in sneaker culture. What to Expect
Craft Cocktails
The metrobar experience includes great drinks featuring a list of exclusive local beer, wine, and spirits. We’re joined for this event by guest bartender Chrissy Sheffey of Pop’s Market, who will craft an exclusive New Balance Appreciation Day menu ft. our sponsor spirit, Uncle Nearest Whiskey!
Food Trucks
We’ll have DC’s best chargrilled Oysters from Who Want Smoke and grilled favorites from District Flames onsite for the event! And our neighbors across the street at Bryant Street Market are also available for pick-up to bring into metrobar.
Entertainment
Host Killa Cal the Animal of the Rare Essence Band will be our MC for the day, with beats from DJ DNA and DJ Crank to set the day party vibe! Stay for the After Party ft. DJs Geena Marie, MUSE(O)FIRE, and Shavaun xx starting at 7pm.

FAQs
The 2nd annual New Balance Appreciation Day takes place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The event will be followed by a DJ after party until closing at 1:00 am.
The event takes place at metrobar, located at 640 Rhode Island Ave NE in Washington, DC. We are located one block west of the skybridge from the Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood Metro to the Metropolitan Branch Trail, and 1/2 block north of Rhode Island Ave NE behind The Chase at Bryant Street.
No, this event will be first-come, first-served. Your RSVP is simply a reminder that the event is taking place and does not guarantee entry to metrobar if the venue is at capacity. Doors open at Noon and patrons are welcome to arrive from that time on.
Go grab a pair from our partners at Prince & Princess, your nearby DTLR, or another fine DC retail establishment. Otherwise, rock what ya got and come join the party!
We are thrilled to have the Who Want Smoke and District Flames food trucks onsite for this event! Outside food is accepted at metrobar, but we encourage you to patronize these amazing vendors. You can also visit our neighbors across the street at Bryant Street Market food hall, which can be ordered onsite at metrobar for pick up at the food hall.
Families are welcome at metrobar! Children must be within arms length under direct supervision of their guardian at all times. The venue is 21 & over after 8pm.
Pets are welcome at metrobar! We have dog bowls available as well as doggy treats for purchase. They must be on a fixed length leash at all times (6’ max) and are not allowed in any interior spaces, such as the train car or bathrooms. If they have an accident, please notify staff immediately.
Outside alcohol is absolutely prohibited. Outside drinks for children are permissible under certain circumstances, as are items purchased from our food trucks.
This event is rain or shine. We offer many different covered areas at metrobar, including our railcar bar & platform lounge, cabanas, and covered deck.
Paid parking is available in the Premium Parking surface lot directly adjacent to our venue and in the garage below us. However, we also encourage you to take rideshare or public transportation — we are located 1/2 block from the Rhode Island Ave Metro and the MBT.
There will be a cigar area set aside for guests during New Balance Appreciation Day.
Gratuity is not included, however, we will automatically add 20% to your bill if you do not close your tab before leaving.
