Mark your calendars, the DC State Fair returns on Saturday, September 6th. Celebrate the District’s agricultural, culinary, and artistic talents at the 15th annual DC State Fair, hosted this year at Bryant Street NE and metrobar!
Since 2010, the DC State Fair has held a free showcase of the region’s agricultural and creative talents and a celebration of all things homegrown. Inspired by time-honored state fair traditions—growing and gardening, contests, and deep-fried foods—the DC State Fair honors the things that make the District of Columbia unique. - JOIN THE BOARD: As a volunteer-run organization, we rely on the dedication of our community to sustain the Fair throughout the year by serving on our board and various committees.
- VOLUNTEER: We are always on the lookout for individuals to join our team or volunteer to support individual Fair events. Whether you’re looking to support an event, join the Board or one of our committees, there’s always a spot for you!

- CONTESTS: The wait is over! Registration for the 2025 DC State Fair contests is now open. Have a hot sauce recipe you’ve been perfecting? Did you pick up crocheting and want to show off your skills? Are you a homebrewer or cider maker? With more than 60 contests to choose from, there’s no shortage of opportunities to pick up a DC State Fair ribbon this year.
DC STATE FAIR HISTORY
The first DC State Fair was held August 28, 2010. It was established by three food and garden bloggers to showcase the talents of the District and engage artistic, agricultural, and culinary-minded residents in friendly competition. The fair has been held in different neighborhoods across the District:

- 2012 – Barracks Row Fall Festival (Capitol Hill)
- 2013 – Barracks Row Fall Festival (Capitol Hill)

- 2015 – Old City Farm and Guild (Brentwood)
- 2016 – NoMa Junction at Storey Park (NoMa)
- 2017 – Waterfront Station (Southwest D.C.)
- 2018 – Waterfront Station (Southwest D.C.)
- 2019 – Gateway DC on the St. Elizabeths Hospital Campus (Congress Heights)
- 2020 – Virtual
