Art All Night at metrobar

Join us and our neighborhood and creative partners for Art All Night, DC’s free overnight arts festival on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24! We are organizing the neighborhood’s first-ever contribution to the citywide Art All Night Festival, which celebrates the visual and performing arts, showcasing the diverse talents of our city’s creative community.

On Friday, metrobar will be a “Welcome Location” for Ward 5 and Rhode Island Avenue Main Street, and on Saturday we’ll showcase new photography from the “A Long Way Down” exhibit about DC Metro (open call here). Across both days/nights we will feature live mural painting, a photography exhibition, fire dancing, music performances, plus features and releases from DC Beer Week 2022.  See the full program below:

FRIDAY:

• Live Mural Painting (5pm – close):  Join Rhode Island Avenue Main Street for this live artistic showcase with artist Justin Poppe and start your Art All Night journey at metrobar
  
• DC Beer Week: Karaoke Battle of the Brewers (7pm – close):  Watch DC’s brewers compete in a a no-holds-barred karaoke battle, vote to crown the top team, mingle with dc beer lovers, and enjoy a wide selection of DC’s best brews, including the 2022 Solidarity Beer!

SATURDAY:

• Pop of Culture In the Mix Pop-up Shop (12pm – 6pm):  Join us a 2-day outdoor lifestyle pop-up and social event. Shop Black-owned, network, and more!
  
• A Long Way Down photography exhibition (7pm – close):  In June we opened the photo exhibition “A Long Way Down” from Focus on the Story and Joe Newman of f8photographic.  The gallery features the work of 11 photographers who documented the grit, the weirdness, the grind and the humanity of life on Metro.  The exhibition is expanding with new photography for Art All Night which will also be featured in an upcoming book, A Long Way Down: The Grandeur, Grit and Humanity of the DC Metro.
