Connecting all eight wards
metrobar is a new DC-focused, arts-driven hospitality venue.
We’re more than just a bar, we are creating an intersectional space to connect people across cultural groups, and to provoke conversation about where the District has been, where it is now, and where it’s going. The venue features intimate and life-sized art installations, from the railcar itself to our murals and future stage, screens, and other programmable segments. Our focus is local, both on the artists and the subjects we highlight, from our block, through the surrounding neighborhood, and into the greater DMV area. The mission of metrobar is to advance cultural, educational, and social programming through collaborative, arts-driven, and authentic DC experiences.
Built inside a refurbished 5000-series Metro railcar at the Rhode Island Avenue Metro and along the Metropolitan Branch Trail, our multi-purpose bar and cultural venue provides an intersectional and arts-driven space meant to connect people across the community. An 11,000 square foot outdoor venue, metrobar symbolizes the connection between the District’s eight wards and will celebrate what makes the District great – while provoking conversation about where the District has been, where it is now, and where it’s going.
